Hillier Garden Centre, in Chichester, is looking to expand later this year, offering a wider range of goods and services to customers.

The centre, on Main Road, is looking to introduce an all-new community space for customers, including a restaurant. It’s hoped the development will create new opportunities for employment, while providing apprenticeships and training programmes for the community.

Parking facilities, road access and public transport provision are also on the cards, and owners hope it will improve customer’s access to the centre, attracting more punters then ever before.

The design itself emphasises sustainability, with a particular focus on carbon reduction, contributing to biodiversity and accessible electronic vehicle (EV) charging points.

A public consultation is now being held to seek the community’s feedback on the plans, and members of the community are being invited to drop in to the garden centre on May 31, from 2pm to 5pm to find out more.

The consultation is running until June 7.
