Skipper Walsh goes nap as Rangers rompto their best win yet

Three goals in the first eight minutes and five from Aaron Walsh swept St Francis Rangers to a 9-2 cup win at home to strugglers Worthing United on Saturday.

Rangers’ biggest win in senior football, their previous best was 8-0 against Selsey in January 2008, came despite the early loss of first goalscorer Charlie Pitcher. He struck after only three minutes and it was 3-0 when he went off feeling unwell to be replaced by manager dad, Geoff.

Walsh and an own goal virtually ended the tie before it began but United had other ideas and had pegged it back back to 3-2 by half time.
