McSweeney set to swap Bexhill for Kansas as football adventure beckons
McSweeney, who plays in the women’s football academy at the college, has committed to join Highland Community College in Kansas and looks forward to being a part of their inaugural women’s soccer programme.
Future Elite Sports delivered a presentation at Bexhill College about options regarding different scholarships, with the possibility of being offered a scholarship in a different country.

Hide AdAfter expressing her interest, McSweeney received a call a few months later, inviting her to take part in some trials.
Since then, she has been travelling to various parts of the UK to take part in filming for Future Elite Sports. The match videos produced were sent to different coaches in America.
She received another call with the news that Future Elite Sports would like to offer her a scholarship to play football in America.
McSweeney said: “This news was amazing; I genuinely didn’t think it would happen. My family and friends were so happy and supportive.”

Hide AdShe is also an ambassador for English Colleges FA and travelled to Aston Villa FC for some training. She is one of only 200 students in the whole country to be an ECFA ambassador.
McSweeney encourages any young sports players to take opportunities that come their way as you never know where it might lead.
