Wooden windowsmust stay at Rectory
The committee turned down an application from Rye Rector the Revd David Frost for double glazing at the Rectory in Gun Garden.
Cllr Ian Potter said: “Double glazing can be timber framed.”

Hide AdPlanning chairman Cllr Bernardine Fiddimore said: “We our talking about the most sensitive part of our town.”
Mayor Cllr Shaun Rogers said: “UPVC is inappropriate material for that area.”
Cllr John Breeds said: “I do have every sympathy as the Rectory is north-east facing and can get very cold in the winter.”
Parishioners at St Mary’s Church signed a petition in favour of the UPVC glazing plan.
The committee refused the application.
