TV celebrity and actor Mark Benton has become an ambassador for St Michael’s Hospice.

Mark, who lives locally is known for his role in the Nationwide Building Society advertisements, as well as playing Eddie in Early Doors, and Howard in Northern Lights. He also featured on Strictly Come Dancing.

Mark visited the Hospice on Upper Maze Hill on Monday August 10 to meet staff, volunteers and the people they support in Day Services, which has recently reopened following the fire.

“The Hospice is an incredible place. It really is great. You never know when you might need their services and it’s such a valuable part of our community,” said Mark.

“The Hospice offers so much and deserves all the support it can get, and I’m really pleased to be a celebrity ambassador.”

Bruni Llovet, Head of Marketing added “We are delighted to have Mark on board.

“The people we support were very excited and loved chatting with him about the dances he learnt during his time on Strictly Come Dancing.
