Pett and Pett Level

Everyone bought their own main course and Pett WI provided salads, bread and condiments. There followed the now legendary Feast of Puddings, this year truly scrumptious and many enjoyed second, even third helpings! A glass of bubbles was also provided and entertainment came from The Pete Prescott Band. The weather was delightful, enabling many to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and around £300 was raised for local causes. Church Services: Church Services on Sunday June 12 – Morning Worship, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am. There will be a Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am. Village Voices: On Monday June 13 the Village Choir will meet at Pett Methodist Church at 7:30pm. Pett Older People’s Project: At POPP on Tuesday June 14 will feature Annie Cryer and Tai Chi. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:00pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5. Pett Gardening Club: Also on Tuesday June 14 Pett Gardening Club will be meeting at 6:30pm in Pett Village Hall before visiting Fairlight End and Breanross. Pett WI: On Wednesday June 15, Pett W.I. will be hearing from one of its own members, Jan Tomalin, of Media Law Consultancy. Jan will be talking about her work in a talk entitled ‘Keeping Channel 4 out of Jail’. Bearing in mind the latest spate of celebrity injunctions and other privacy matters being discussed in the Press, this promises to be a fascinating and informative talk. The meeting starts at 7pm at Pett Village Hall and visitors are most welcome. Pett Methodist Chapel: June 18 and 19 sees the celebration of the Church Anniversary. The event will be marked with and Art and Flower Exhibition. Apart from local works of art and craft and stunning flower displays, there will be refreshments including delicious homemade cakes and a Fair Trade stall with some interesting food produce from around the world. The exhibition opens at 10-30am on Saturday and 12:30pm on Sunday. Yoga: New beginners’ classes have started at Pett Village Hall. Improve your fitness and sense of calm and well-being in a friendly atmosphere. The classes, on Tuesdays (6 to 7pm) and Thursdays (10:30am to 12pm) are suitable for all ages and abilities – just bring a blanket and loose fitting clothing.
