LETTER: Definition of '˜affordable'?

Always accompanying this is a complaint that there are insufficient affordable houses apportioned to the plan.
The word ‘affordable’ unfortunately does little to convey the value or appearance of a house or who can afford it.

Hide AdAfter all, if you are a professional footballer or an emigrant with ten children any price is affordable to you or your local council respectively.
Can someone please give us some guidance as to what bracket affordable prices come in and what basic essentials are included therein?
I notice that Liberty are not intending to build the required proportion of ‘affordables’ in North Horsham anyway so the later conversion of business premises to flats is likely to continue in the future locally.
