But the old newsroom, for so long a hive of activity, is now a living room - as the building has been converted into nine luxury apartments.
The new homes were showcased by estate agent Guy Leonard and Co yesterday (Wednesday June 24).

Prices for the apartments - eight two-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom home - range from £275,000 to £725,000.
Press House was home to the offices of the West Sussex County Times from around 1893 until 2013.
Back in 1681 the site included an ale shop, a tailors shop, a butchers shop and also some living accommodation.

From 1893 the West Sussex County Times and Sussex Standard offices occupied part of the building, the remainder was a sports shop run by Attwaters. In 1927 this shop burnt down and that part of the site was redeveloped.
The apartments include a lift, modern lighting and efficient gas heating, with several having views over the Causeway.
Two of the homes have been reserved. The seven remaining apartments will be launched on Saturday (June 27), with viewings from 10am to 4pm.
